Australia's Samantha Stosur broke all expectations by winning the U.S. Open after beating the favorite, American Serena Williams, 6-2, 6-3 in 1 hour and 11 minutes.
Stosur, an accomplished doubles player in this mode already won Wimbledon and RolandGarros, three years ago decided to focus on his career as a player and hit singles in the tennisworld's largest at the peak of his career by winning his first ''major''in singles.
